The storms blow in from the west
bringing thunder, lightning and rain
for people with arthritis
theres even an index for pain

pollen carried by summer breezes
ads for products to stop our sneezes
local forecast six times each hour
The Weather Channel sure has power

weather forecasts around the nation
help us plan a great vacation
where its warm, where its cold
reports on mildew and on mold

hurricane season, lots of fun
east coast states are under the gun
the midwest states are in a stew
as big tornadoes spiral through

this year the west coast's even drier
with danger high for forest fires
Florida, always tropical heat
to make your winter vacation a treat

in the Rocky Mountains...always snow
the perfect skiing place to go
if you like your weather wet
take a trip to the great northwest

the meteorologists keep us all together
reporting on each other's weather
with all the geography they teach
their knowledge cannot be impeached

they know every highway, each city and town
they seem to travel all around
reporting on hurricanes, blizzards too
oh what a wonderful job they do

cold fronts, warm fronts even backdoor fronts
the weather map shows them all at once
I know when my family in New Yorks' nice and warm
and when my mother in Floridas' threatened with storms

the meteorologists have become my friends
I watch their reports for hours on end
its my opinion, if you ask me
The Weather Channels the best show on TV

YAY!!! All hail The Weather Channel, the most wonderful channel of them all, or maybe Discovery! (kiss on cheek) Yep, the slopes up here in the Rockies have been great, you should come and visit sometime! (giggles) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is wonderful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Lyra darling girl this is just sooooooooo wonderful. We don’t have the Weather Channel here but considering how changeable it is they would never get it right. I’ve known there to be snow on Bluebell hill and a thunderstorm in town less than two miles distance. Bluebell hill isn’t that high, just in case someone thought that’s a likely possibility, it shouldn't happen but it does. Which is why no one is ever prepared for the weather we get

I love the flow of this you’ve really painted this picture of Weather Channel watching brilliantly, I love it Truly sensational writing,

Love and warm stuff

Joanna...thanks for replying.  My mother lives in Florida, and it is usually warm, so you wouldn't need the Weather Channel so you would know what to wear.

Victoria...I am also too busy reading and writing poetry, but I often put it on, first thing in the morning while I'm getting dressed.  I seem to always have a need to know what the weather will be for the coming week....like a compulsion of sorts.

Marsha...You don't have the Weather Channel over there....?  How do you live without it?
only kidding...LOL

Floria...thanks so much for replying.  I know they screw up a lot...this morning while our local weather report was on, we could hear the meteorologist in the background talking about the national weather.....they also get the weather wrong sometimes...but I still find it interesting and informative to watch.

I think you have the wrong idea about Florida...it's COLD right now! (course, people who have been in FL all their lives think 36 degrees is cold) No, we don't get snow, thank God
