Ocean eyes of blue violet
touch deeply within
like a wave basking
in depths of moonlight

The pure velvet of his kiss
lingers upon succulent lips
like the blush
of a mandarin sunset
in the afternoon

She savors each kiss
like bouquet of red wine
holding them close
to her soul
til she sets them adrift
in memoirs of the wind
like a taffeta ribbon
draped around the wounds
of her bleeding heart

You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice because thorns have roses.

Vic, your soft gentle words flow like pure honey, sweetly, smoothly,  slowly, gently, tantalizingly into my galatic pool of celestial ecstasy. I'm falling in love.

An awesomely beautiful poem, Victoria.
I especially loved these words

like the blush
of a mandarin sunset
in the afternoon

*sigh* so beautiful so tender such memories of the soft love of his kiss and then one comes to the end to learn how the sweetness of memories covers a bleeding heart....*sigh* is it better to have love and maybe the pain that may go with it or is it better to be alone with no one to share the little things of life with? **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Victoria

This poem is such a pure example of the flowing beauty of poetic language.

Poetry in it's most gracious yet intense portrait of emotion!
