state of confusion

Brunching

By the time we realized
brunch was thirty bucks,
we were already drinking
our second Ramos Fizz
(with genuine orange flower water),
and the fair fare
of the Duck Club
spread before us
on blood-red tables cloths,
and hey,
they make hot fudge sundaes
to order,
which sounded good
after sausages,
poached eggs
and strawberries
dipped in white chocolate
with a glass of Mimosa.

I started in with
my old familiar friend,
guilt -
overstuffed, watching
all that slowly spoiling food;
but you put a hand up,
and reminded me
that the purpose
was conversation
not consumption.

Ah! Brunching. My favorite Sunday pastime.
Thanks for reminding me to think about next Sunday.

(smiles) Mmmmmmmmmmm...this delightful poem made me hungry for a bowl of strawberries dipped in white chocolate! (kiss on cheek) I love spending time with my family at breakfast and lunch and anything in-between, it's such a beautiful time to greet each other and get close together! We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is gorgeous! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Corrine, thank you for sharing!

May love and light alwyas shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
