Silent Scream

I open my mouth yet nothing comes out
Only silence as my pain I would shout
Strangling back the sound of my cries
Voicing it loud but in muteness it dies

Stuck in the pit of pride’s selfish hold
Frozen in the depth of a soul dead and cold
Mistrust and jealousy have taken its toll
Power to fight from my heart you stole

I look into eyes that were warm and alive
Now I can see there’s no will to survive
Unable to give sound to the sorrow I feel
Unable to yell of a pain that is real

Cursed into silence, not allowed to speak
You will not listen to the answers you seek
All of this pressure has built to extreme
Leaving me dying in silent scream
