There are times when the seam of things
just rips
and then comes roaring out are all my fears.
This love in zest and search for you
is endangered sometimes by the doubt
clinging to the hopes that usually float
and
drift in tenderness.
While I am sitting here creating my words
I am usually thinking of you
and the love you seem to have me wrapped in
and we all know the seem of things
just rips sometimes
and then we see whats really there behind the cloth.
Can it be done?
Can this waiting wrought with shredded fingernails
from biting teeth
be done?
Time will not admit to me the futility of this passion
and nor will I
for I will fight against whatever obstacles
for however many years decide to trample on our meant to be
and I will pay no attention to talk of seams and seems ripping
because they are only figments of my doubt.
Instead I will eat figments
of the what delicious hopes deck the table of my desire for you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will be fickle from now on
is what I promised myself long ago.
I will be fickle and choose carefully
who receives the whole of my love
and have I been fickle?
Has my heart once again made a firm choice
without the assistance of my straight thinking mind?
I will be fickle from now on.
From now, loving you
and onward
to living with that love
getting to know the you behind it all.
My steps, each one saturated with passion
will be tender
and I will walk with
bare feet through the pool of you
with hope that its enchantment
will warn me gently of any sudden drops in depth.
And in those drops of depth I will hope to swim
calmly and without panic.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If the distance claims our passion
and we drown
and I sink
I will hope that death is quicker
than the fast pain
of a heart bursting from the pressure
of too much loss.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(big hugggssssssss) So very sad but beautiful, sweet friend, I believe we have to be fickle every now and then when we yearn to hold onto love, but as long as we follow our hearts and choose love carefully, we will find true joy and hope always and live with the strength of love! (sigh) We all wish you the greatest happiness, sweet friend, you deserve it so much, all our hearts go out to you! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jenn, thank you for sharing!
May love and light always shine upon you!
Love,
Noah Eaton
I too found these lines to open my mind to many images and emotions. Longing and sad...hopeful yet troubled, fearful yet resigned.You have crafted a very emotional and longing piece!!!
