She Borrows but Returns Tenfold

She says
     “people don’t talk to
          me anymore
‘cause I’m always
          taking their lines”

Like a silvery apparition
          she sweeps in
                       sweeps up
                                  sweeps away

So much so, I find myself
searching, probing for
           My line,
a snippet of thought
                       a line of pain
a gesture gained

And I turn the page…

There they are…

Four or five or six words
         strung together in a weave
                  such as I cannot
believe

Those words having stemmed
                                                    from my thoughts

And now!  They have been wrought
with mystery and magic
                                     and music

by her pen…

She is remarkable and funny
            downright seriously gifted
                       I don’t know the all
                                             of her
Or the wheres and whys and
                                    hows of her

I just know

She borrows my words
                 and returns them, tenfold.

Oh my gosh, Sunshine. I just cannot believe how beautiful and unique this is.. You must be proud that she thinks enough of you to borrow your words, then you honor her by saying she returns it tenfold. This is simply remarkable. floria

Wow!  Karilea...I love this one so much!  Love the presentation, the way the words dance down the page.  I'll bet Doreen enjoyed it as well.

At the risk of being oh so cliche' - this was really cool and Doreen must have loved it very much

Indeed Doreen is, and this is wonderful sunshine!

The great thing about her is that she asks before she borrows them... but.. once she's cast her magic on them, who'd want them back anyway???..

You are so right, Nan...it's just an honor to be asked, let alone to think that something I wrote inspires her...or anyone, for that matter...

thank you everyone, for enjoying this poet along with me...
