~*~   Dancing In The Dark   ~*~

Gingerly I entered the nightclub
I passed by on my way home each night.
Perhaps tonight would be the night,
I’d meet him, if the timing was right.

I ordered and sipped on a drink,
then I noticed him gazing into my eyes.
I knew this time I couldn't run away
he was just too much to compromise.

His eyes were blue, his hair like coal
and his smile melted me right away,
He said, “Would you like to dance”?
He held my hand as he led the way.

We danced in the dark the whole night,
telling each other our stories.
As I got to know him more and more
I felt comfortable, and had no worries.

For this was the man I'd been waiting for,
the same man I saw in all my dreams.
At this point I was absolutely sure of it
or at least that's how it seemed.

The next night I waited for the call
from the man who'd made my dreams come true,
finally I fell asleep by the phone, and
since then I've had a different view.

I guess to him it was just another night,
a drink, a dance, and go out on the town.
I was in heaven, living a dream came true.
now that experience has only brought me down.

It takes more than just one single night,
To capture the man of your dreams,
I felt more for him that he did for me
I’ll go back and catch him, so it seems.

He is definitely the man of my dreams,
and I am not going to let him get away,
No matter how long it takes me to catch him
He’s definitely going to be mine one day!

Just a silly little“Go Get Your Valentine” poem

It is the glue the holds the world together
a promise for tomorrow,
that there will all ways be children
laughing
skipping stones
Don't you ever give up
thanks

Wow!
Something tells me all you gals are ready for cupid?  He has hit me one too many times in the wrong spot, so I just duck now, it makes my life way less complicated.  But love can be absolutely grand, and I think if it feels right,
Go get him!   Thanks for the replies.

One thing about dancing in the dark, you definitely know it's a dream!  Very good!  I've introduced a friend of mine to you work, she particularly enjoys hearing the music as the words scroll down the page!  Hugs to you!  K

Sweet Lady, it has been too long since I have read your work, and far too long since we have chatted. I miss you.

For all who watch.Dare you say hello? Come in and ask the questions that are on your mind, but spare me your judgement until you truly sipped of me.

Karilea ~ Thank you and some do like music with poetry and then some not.  I am glad she is enjoying it, and yes this was definitely a dream - where it real, well then it would be a nightmare for me! LOL

Jenn ~ You are so right, long time no talk! Thanks for stopping in to read this one, talk to you soon.
