Dream or Vision

Lets see if I can put this into words
with out sounding completly absurd
Was this a dream or a vision
Had I been aloud to cross some division

Loved my Mother inlaw with all of my heart
More like Mother and Daughter right from the start
When her health started to fail
Would do anything for her and let her know we all cared

The time came, when death took her away
I knew without doubt she was ready for this day
I cried selfishly for I would miss her
But rejoiced for her too, she no longer suffered

Her boys tho now men
Had a hard time copein
She couldn't talk of death with them
They would have none of it, they woudnt listen

Tho I dont remember how long after her death
I guess long enough to finally rest
In a deep sleep I heard my name called
When I opened my eyes I knew I couldn't be awake at all

For there befor me was a young heathy women
All happy and giddy like many years before she would have been
She was holding my hand gesturing wide with the other
"Can you believe it? Where I am? And look theres my mother."

Never had I seen such color as this
The feel of the surrounding was simply pure bliss
Rolling green hills, sheer rock clifs
Mountain rising from afar with a snow cover tip

All at once I was in some kind of old barn I saw her mother knowing instantly she was Queen of this farm
With out any words spoken she clearly let me know
I couldn't touch anything here or I would have to go

This was a hard task for in this barn I saw
Hundreds of the softest bunnies with great big hudge paws
Mom was still saying "Can you believe it? Look where I am"
Almost running in happiness all the while holding my hand

Its been Oh so many years ago that this took place
But the memory hasn't faded not at all not a trace
Knowing Mom as I did, I'm sure you'll think I'm crazed
But to comfort me and pass the word
I was shown her special place

Sometime later I shared this story
The Brothers thought it funny
But they all refer to Mom now
as
Hangin out with all her bunnies

The title of this poem is perfect for I think this was both dream and vision...I felt the realness of it as I read...You were blessed with a stunning glance into eternity...Absolutely magnificent. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Connie, I believe it was a vision.  I have had a few things such as this happen to me after loved ones have passed over.  Interesting write.

Connie, I am wondering if this was true, was it a dream? It sounds so wonderful, Like she was trying to tell you that she was ok, and not to worry. Lovely poem. floria
