Somewhere

Somewhere, where mountains touch the shore
there’s a lonely beach I wander
Where I can silently explore
and let thoughts drift as I ponder

These sands are timeless
that my feet now tread
Such gentle soft caress
with sun’s warmth is spread

Somewhere, out there, where dreams are real,
the magic place my spirit goes
To sooth the hurts that I conceal
and let my soul again compose

Softly the waves play
melody so sweet
Then I start to sway
gently on my feet

Somewhere, I’m dancing on a beach
safe in my phantom love’s embrace
Where there’s no use for needless speech
from hearts that share this wondrous place

The moon is our light
with stars winking down
There’s romance tonight
with this man I’ve found

Somewhere, I know you walk the shore
filling your heart with soothing peace
Are you letting your mind explore
while searching for your heart’s release?

Reminds me of one of my favorite songs--"somewhere out there"...

nice mix of tranquility and longing.

Truly lovely.

Two things struck me about this...your beautiful way of writing romance and walking the sands in the middle of 'winter'.  Is it as warm there as it is here?  This poem just fits perfectly with my morning coffee.  The screen door is open, the sun is bright...love is everywere!

Serenity...I am so glad you could feel this poem.. that is exactly what I was trying to convey...**big hugs**

Noah...*grin* maybe someday I will be in the arms of my phantom lover....one never knows...**big hugs**

Duncan...*giggling* nope not warm here at all...it is very very cold, in fact, but in my heart this is the place I go to find my phantom lover and feel the warmth sooth my soul....I so love the warmth of summer...you are so lucky to be where it is so beautiful and where the heart can sing with the joy it brings. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

'These sands are timeless'

Couldn't help but think of how slowly sand moves through the hourglass of our memories~

This is beautiful~

I just love this image and how I long to walk the beach barefooted.

I hope you find that love and romance. Hugs, Marti

Karen, we should go together to my favorite beach in California, bring a nice bottle of wine, and just wit for the magical knights to appear.

Karen, Karen, lovely, lovely, what is it about a sandy beach, so serene and peaceful. You expressed this well. floria

I did more than ponder tonight your poem title became part of my Plagiarism medley. See what effect your words have on me? I want them to be mine too!
