A Really Bad Mood!
By Larry Chadwick

I was in a mood,
It was so intense.
Without even a thought,
It made no sense.

But I was sincere,
And oh so intent.
I would make the effort,
I would not relent.

It takes a lot of focus,
To stay in this mood.
I was feeling surly
And so totally rude.

But I was determined,
On that you could rely.
No common sense today,
That I would not belie.

It’s actually quite simple,
If you want to make it work.
It isn’t all that hard,
To really be a jerk.

Just focus on yourself,
Think of none other.
And you will be alone,
If that is what you’d rather.

smiling here, I enjoyed this much, as like the girl with a curl in the middle of her forehead, when I'm good, I'm very good, and when I'm bad, I'm horrid! I actually told one friend who had stayed long past his welcome on a bad day: "I KNOW you can't be enjoying the company!"

Enjoyed this very much, Larry!

Sadly this was me! Fortunately...it was long ago and far away. Growing up is such a wonderful thing! LOL Thanks. And about that company, naw, never mind. ROTFL

It's easy to wallow in the jerk mode
or the 'B' mode for that matter,
but it accomplishes nothing and we only
harm ourselves.

So get over it already!!!

Tracey,
I knew he was a jerk! (Sorry I'm probably out of line) Boy do you deserve better. It is curable. But nobody can treat it. LOL Self-pity reaps its own rewards. Thanks.

(big hugggsssssss) Awwwwwww, we all have days like these where we are under the weather and feeling down; you are never a jerk to any of us but a very loving, compassionate, and sincere friend, and when we feel grouchy, we never intend to be a jerk, it's just we're trying to release our anxiety and it can take a lot! (sigh) We all love you so much, sweet friend, you are a delight to us all! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Larry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Listen to you! Rant and rave, rave and rant. It's a good thing you outgrew that routine. But ya know, some people never outgrow that jerk routine. You should have heard me yesterday when my CD burner was not copying music as it should. Scritch and scratch and tinny noises. But I sure told it where to go and what to do with itself, and how to spin. Then I told my dog to stop bugging me and stop following me like a shadow. Then I felt awful, when he looked at me with that sad rejected look. Yep, some of us still rant and rave occasionally. Must be a full moon out there underneath those snow clouds.

Hello Larry

This was wonderful and I just can't for a minute imagine you "chucking a wobbly" as we sometimes say here in the land of Oz.

chucking a wobbly = losing ones cool/bad mood

I hope you record that saying for future reference Larry.  I have plenty of them.

Take care mate......Sue

What a fabulous poem! Describes to a 'T' how I am feeling this evening. And thanks to you, it has snapped me back to reality and my lovely, charming, sweet self!  :-)

Noah,
This is one of the few times I will have to respectfully disagree with you...sorry. But there times, as stated in the poem, when we get negative by choosing to only think of ourselves. If we make a concerted effort to change our focus it changes our mood. I had too many years experience not to know this. And guess what...I don't miss that attitude a bit. But love you for your thoughtfulness and always a positive attitude. That is worth a ton of respect.

Hey Midnitesun,
I've been told to spin... But it wasn't directed at a person you love, close (the dog). It must be the moon! Thanks.

Sue,
Well...I used to chuck wobblies pretty faithfully. Got tired of 'em, so gave it up. Thanks for the edication! More...more. Thanks for your observations, matie.

Nancy Lee,
Get tired once in a while but gave up the bad moods...they suck! LOL

Marti,
The very purpose I hoped to serve...cool! Thanks, you made my day.

Karen,
Can I fake a mood to get some more? Thanks.

Larry....
Here's to all the world's jerks
and guys who don't help with housework
I guess that I haven't a clue
why good guys are jerks when they're blue
when their tempers become iridescent
these good guys act so adolescent
on their bad days they act so horrific
even though we all know they're terrific
but its hard to believe they condemn us
each month when we suffer from PMS
