Beneath The Tree Of Life

Beneath the tree of life I lay my head;
While lost in tranquil feel of Life's embrace,
The leaves of past and present well imbed,
While future gently covers up my face.
A memory escapes in silent squall,
The hidden depths of what my heart conceals;
But yesterday's reflections can't enthral,
The daily blithefulness that life reveals.
With dewdrop tears I bid farewell to past,
For future will bestow leaves from above;
Astonished comprehension at long last;
At least I've known the beauty of true love.
  While lost in tranquil feel of Life's embrace,
  Beneath the tree of life I rest my case.

Everything that comes from your pen is gold! I haven't read one poem by you that wasn't perfection This is wise and so beautiful!  You really can write any form of poetry, can't you? - it was no surprise that you mastered the sonnet form   You should be very proud...this is a keeper~

I hope that Nan reads this~

Take care,
Melissa~

Oh Munda I missed it - thanks Melissa for bumping it   What an absolutely beautiful sonnet, I printed and kept it in my Passions Picks - and I thank you for another addition to my pages of wonderful poetry I am keeping for the kids one day to read.
