Soul sings
I'm a harp string
I'm a melody
in a music box.
A key turned,
I'm a heart's yearn
I'm a fever's burn
unlocking locks.

I can be anything
you'd like me to be.
I'll strike a pose,
if you'll wind the key.
Chimes in a charm
of chaste rhapsody,
dancing to music
of life's symphony...

A curtsey
of a bent string
I'm a harp singing
melody...
Key turns
as the tears burn
eternity...
in...a...music...box.

*inspired by a charming gift of a ceramic music box*

(smiles) Awwwwwwww, this is sooooooo gorgeous, sweet friend, there's no sound that makes me happier than a music box! (kiss on cheek) May you forever be that ballerina that skips into eternity on that music box, and may your heart forever sing with that lovely song happily! We all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

You never cease to amaze me - this is excellent writing...beautifully expressed with a touch of sadness at the end that really moved me ~ many I am sure can relate to this metaphor, I know I can.  Maybe I'm wrong, but, I read this as a bittersweet perspective from the ballerina dancer in the musicbox (kinda like a jack in the box also)...she gets pleasure out of entertaining to the wonderful music, but, also feels like a trapped puppet who's alone with no chance of escape. Sorry for the ramble, but this really moved me!
This is a keeper

"key turns

eternity

Take care,
Melissa~

Thanks to all, especially Melissa for the "ramble"--you got exactly my intent!
I was trying to use simpler language to convey that little tinkling sound...hope I succeeded! Love you all and thank you!

After all these fine comments I am daunted.  So, I will just say this is FABULOUS!
