The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2002-01-27 11:25 PM

For years, I've wandered all alone
lost in a mire of misconstrue
under a moon that fades to dark
threads of myself threaten undo.

Once in a past and better time
I knew my place, I felt belong
but since that fateful day he left
no heart in love, surroundings wrong.

So long have I been half alive
I cannot find where I now live
under a fairy hill perhaps
there must be something left to give.

It seems a hand does beckon now
to pull me out of darkened space
A tender thought was all it took
I was not lost, but just misplaced.

Sandra, this has a positive ending to an otherwise sad piece.  I do hope this is true and someone has held out a hand to you.

I feel your pain and know the feeling,
but there is always something left to give
if we choose to share it.

I don't know what the answer is,
I just keep smiling and try to make it stick.

The ending of this piece sounds like the beginning of something precious….I hope it is. Now you have me wondering..time for a chat...it's been awhile.

Sandra, I truly the hope the hand that beckons is taken and realized.  For what it's worth...knew you weren't lost.

Thanks everyone, for the words of encouragment. I wish there was someone special who came in at the ending, but no, I just felt like ending on a positive note. Maybe it will come to pass someday. In case you all don't know it, sometimes the hand belongs to you-my friends of passions.

Very whistful.  The form is excellent and shows a lot of talent.

Good Job.

How can a poem be both lovely and sad?  You've done well with this one, my friend.  It's a keeper.  Take care!
