Vagaries of breeze commanding,
limitless in their foresight.
Long forgotten, thoughts of landing,
pure, exhilirating flight.

New horizons there, expanding,
shifting currents which commence
hinting at an understanding
where-in all makes perfect sense.

Were this not mere flight of fancy
might there not be substance there?
On sheer wings of circumstance we
raise our hopes above our cares.

Leave the comfort of surroundings
safely where we've made our nests,
on the verge of some astounding
secret wish. Dare we confess?

Some were not born to be groundlings.
Gifted of a true insight,
slipped from time, their voices sounding
out the words they'll one day write.

Bouyed by such precocious moments
spirits soar, or so I've heard.
Were we granted this bestowment
then we might share somedays' words.

sodpossum,
Thanks. This is a recurring theme of mine. Always striving to make the words materialize into something more than what is written. But, then again, I guess we all do that.
Doc

Midnitesun,
Thank you. It is always an honor when someone thinks enough of one of my pieces to call it a "favorite".
Doc

floria,
Thanks. You've probably noticed that I do not reply very often to others' works. Simply a matter of time constraints ( my loss). This has the equal effect that very few people respond to mine, however, it does allow me more time to read, write, and ( I think) get a more unbiased opinion on what I post. Quid Pro Quo. My thanks again.

Doc, this is a fantastic piece of writing! Excellent expression! Very beautifully done! You are truly one of the poets whom I wish I could write like. Your command of the English language combined with your creativity always produces something well worth reading and pondering! It is always my pleasure to read something from your pen!

Denise,
As flattering as your comments are (even) my swelled head might have to disagree. I tend to think the English language controls me. Thank you my friend.
