circumstance

The circumstance of ancient suns
burning their trail through time
concerns those who would look
to the sky.
Gravity does now rearrange the universe,
and light from the constellations of dead stars
have changed
to the four thousand angstrom wave
you see today.

Were I dreaming of pure white
I would be finding the horror of sleep
and even in the comfort of woven willow stems
envy the dead.

I would instead
walk in this space
against all reason,
as wolves howl at the gate,
needing not to talk
but communicate.

So might I find in this brief time
in this place
the image of what I see is lost
and in finding prove
the spectrum of love exists.

Will we walk then down the road
in this place you once named before
as I would accept your gift
as it pleases to return in kind.

The road will follow as we go
and exist as chance would have it so.
Therefore, in dealing with fortune
and arcane matters of the heart,
I draw the first card.

You see it there at the fork in the road,
the one between justice and death.
I greet you
Welcome.

Mirror Man, I like these lines "You see it there at the fork in the road the one between justice and death." May I borrow them for a story I'm writing. I promise you will not recognise them.
Creative poem.
Kethry

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
