The love that exists within my heart
Could be spread evenly
Across the midnight sky
Never leaving a star untouched
Each star could count another way
I feel my love for you
The chill that comes from an arctic wind
Cannot touch me when caressed
By the warmth of your love
The ocean tide crashing in
Could say your name with each wave
But still not outlast my thoughts of you
A lone eagle, flying high above
Soaring so high that he is but a speck
In the azure tapestry
Still does not top the heights of emotion
From a touch of your sweet body to mine
You never give yourself credit
For what you inspire in me
You don’t realize your own worth
To keep my world alive
I dread the morning sun
When you aren’t in my arms
I wish the dark would never lift
Until the brightness that is you
Enters and chases it away
And saves me from drowning
In my lonely tears

Nothing ever happens unless first a Dream - Rod

Rodney,
it must be coming up to Valentine's Day there are so many romantic poems here.

I love the softness and yearning in this one.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
