mood swings at the epicentre of the universe
and a scratch of imagination
throws a pigment of coloured cells --
a figment that's in a constancy of sliding
across several hues of dawn
amongst murky colours of grey

give me a ray of light
and shine upon me like a dream
withdraw the shadows
looming like curtains
and may the brand new world
begin all over again
in order, in chaos

yes, I am back again
back as if from the big bang
a touch afraid of touch
with a bite of prejudice
almost judgemental
in some form of
temperamental evaluation
like a pungent after-taste
of last night's champagne

after all
time flies in a unidirectional race
while my nose still smells
yesterday's fragrance
in those scents of little happens
and sweet nothings

after all
who can you blame
for those emotions
and what about sentimentality
maybe they are just childish feelings
meant to cause a prod
by the village elders
about prudish actions
before they award punitive damages
like the after-effects of a marriage
gone sour -- divorced

and yes, I am writing in long words
and wishing forever that
life be simple and full of short
beautifully-meant words
like
love, peace, cheer,
joy, friend,
life,

ah! peace
in the arms of a caress
with no duress
and no non-explorability of inaneness
and no fear to tread the bowels
of a beautiful life
and no fear of reprimand from accepting
love

yes, I am swinging back and forth
reading between lines
and all over them
between the last year and the next
ah! the fallacy of contemplation
and the excuse of lament
and the deficiencies of thoughts

and here I am
thinking in those big words again

it is time to make it simple
and give love to feel liked
and give smiles to feel cheered
and climb down to be raised

yet, one day all will be erased
though the effects of goodness might still
survive

here's to wish you all
a very happy new year !!!

----

sorry, my friends that I've been away, but I was in between changing jobs and had to sit at home for 3 and half weeks waiting for administrative tasks to take their sweet time... and alas, I have no computer at home... anyway, I am back where I think, I belong... amongst great friends like you...

welcome back! Hope everything is going well for you now. I know change is stressful. Nice piece here, one of the few long ones that I actually read all the way through. Thank you.

YAY!!! Oh Sudhir, we've all missed you soooooooo much and so happy you're back, I hope your administrative tasks went OK! (big hugggsssssss) This is such a wonderfully bittersweet poem, sweet friend, change can indeed be soooo difficult but as long as we learn to love ourselves more, we will find simplicity and peace deep down always! (sigh) We all love you so much, sweet friend, you are a delight to us all! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sudhir, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Thank you for these words of yours.
I'm at a loss to tell you how deeply
they effected me.
There was a lot of introspection,
every thought is worth holding on to.

I'm so glad I didn't miss this,
and Happy New Year to you too.

Sudhir,
the pendulum swings and you return to our bosom...how wonderful.
Loved this intrespective monologue.

I like the way you swing back and forth in this one. Love the descriptive phrases in the first and second stanzas especially.
