Meet Me In The Meadow

She sent him the singing letter
with notes, of love, so clear
From tears of joy it got wetter,
smudged but she knew he’d hear

A whisper so soft and gentle,
the kiss to make it seal
She’s feeling so sentimental,
from joy she can’t conceal

She knows that his gentle caress
will fill her heart with smiles
Desire not needed to repress
passions sent over miles

Her message is filled with starlight,
no longer in shadow
My love, please come, to me, tonight,
meet me in the meadow

Oh, Karen, my first poem I ever wrote was about a meadow so of course I jumped on this one   I enjoyed this so much!

Ooo, I loved this!  It just made me sigh.  So sweet and romantic ... I just get this wonderful image of two lovers coming together with a passionate embrace and kiss.

Starlight, this is beautiful! The only thing that I can think of that would nicer than starlight in a meadow, would be to meet someone special, like you, there. Thanks for sharing.

You will remember the first part of this one dear friend;

Written upon the gentlest breeze
Each verse gifts note serene
Drifting beneath the Meadow’s stars
Above soft carpet green

There he awaits his lady fair
Beneath sweet blossom,s veil
Arms opened wide in longing call
Heart praying love's prevail

You know I loved it Karen!!!

How very tender and pretty this is Karen. It left me with visions of the love to come in that meadow.
