A child's wisdom

"In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit and said, I thank thee O Father,
Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise
and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father,
for so it seemed good in thy sight."KJV Luke 10:21

What is it
that little children know
that we forget when we grow old
to laugh
to cry
to seek
to try?

To love
and play
not care
what we say?

Look around
at everything
birds and bees
butterflies
ants that craw
dirty flies?

Nary a worry
nary a care
looking to learn
from everything there.

Nothing complex
no reason to vex
when they like it they smile
don't know about sex.

Comfort and love
from a grown up is fine
to keep each child smiling
most of the time.

How did we ever lose
A child's wisdom?

Thank you for you thoughts. Was it fear? Or was it selfishness? Or, is fear just another form of selfish thinking?

This is nice, out of the mouth of babes come some wonderful things..If they all could just keep their innocence till they are grown..Nice Newell.

I don't think  fear is a form of selfishness...I think it is caused by the unknown...and we aren't born with fear..it is a learned response. *s
