From the mists
of the spirit world,
Buffalo Calf Woman called
to the White Buffalo
of centuries past, of a new
day dawning. Clothed in pastels
of soft, pinks and Nature's greens,
she took her smoke dish and raised
it to the Sun...smoke rising
just above the mountains.
A peace flute playing
in sweet harmony with all of life.
She saw the White Buffalo
running from the heart of the vapors.

"O majestic, White Buffalo," she sang,
"Awaken the Sun to breathe
its warm breath upon our spirits,
upon our souls.Tell Grandfather Eagle
we wish to soar with His Wings."

The ghostly silhouette
of a Red Eagle strangely excited her,
making Buffalo Calf Woman desire
the dance of peace, the dance of courtship.
She closed her eyes.Her visions
became bright magnets that drew the eyes
of the White Buffalo to see
~~~~~~the empty space left open
~~~~ in her heart of love. ~~~~

You have penned a beautiful and serene vision in this poem..I actually saw her sitting, mesmerized by the smoke, envisioning her dream!!!

I enjoyed this Ivy, although I know little about Native American culture.
It had a peace about it.

(smiles) Ooohhhhhh...this is soooooo lovely, sweet friend, I have heard of this tale of matrimony too, and it is sooooooo beautiful; your lovely words weave such extraordinary fluting visions of courtship gorgeously! (kiss on cheek) I love it, sweet friend, we all love you so much, you are a true magician of imagery! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ivy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

what an alluring and interesting poem, Ivy.

Brought back memories of the White Buffalo movie with Charles
Bronson that mesmerized me when i first saw it.

Keep up the fine fine work!  Great topic and poem.
