There are the ones that would watch and wait
to see how soon you will make a mistake
Like raptors in the sky who would partake
they see you stumble and hope you break

But what they know not, is the strength inside
which lifts you up for another stride
Bruised and scraped that you may be
it is the soul inside that they cannot see

A soul that is driven with pulsating heart
the one thing that keeps you and them apart
They see your smile, although through chapped lip
as you take your pathway with an even clip

Gnashing their teeth and wrathful inside
for one to succeed, they cannot abide
How dare you cheat them from their fun
when they wish to see you in fearful run

If they could only see that glint in your eye
and feel the tremors of the volcano inside
A power beyond their wildest dreams
for you have conquered their dastardly schemes

Though fallen and stumbled, time and again
it is the future where you will win
Taking all that is thrown at you
for you have shown, you will pursue

Logan, Yes, our inner-strength is more powerful than we know. We sometimes forget and allow false fear to attack us from the shadows. Well done. Chris

Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away.

Love this dear Logan....I know the kind of individuals you speak of here....the ones just waiting for you to trip and fall.  But little do they know the true grit we have inside!
Wonderful piece here dear keeper.
*Hugs and a soft smile, Nancy*

Driven

I sit on the sidelines, can see what they see.
Waiting, they are, for the failure of me.
Fallen I have, from the mountain on high
but the angels have caught me and drift me on by.

They see what is real and the strength that I hold.
Maybe I'm forward and brazen and bold,
but I've learned from my life, it is I in control
if I stumble and falter, I must save my own soul.

Driven, I am, in a passionate way,
mind overworking the words wished to say.
Dreaming in dreams, of a future's begin,
pursuing a path that fulfills from within.

A heart in it's rhythms, keeps seeking it's tune,
To conquer the fears for this child of the moon.

Thank you, Logan...

THESE are the lines that encompass the will...
quote:
A soul that is driven with pulsating heart
the one thing that keeps you and them apart
They see your smile, although through chapped lip
as you take your pathway with an even clip
Yes!

Logan:

Seems I fell most recently
tripped on a sidewalk coming up at me
broke the glass and spread the flowers
upon the walkway of bank so dour

But I got right up and dusted my pride
and picked up the pieces of glass besides
with a little more water and a new vase
I went back and walked on the very same place

Your poem speaks of strength and determination of spirit...very well thought out and important wisdom message.  Hugs to you, dear friend!
