Psalms 25: 16: Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted. (KJV)

I’m battered,
I’ve been beaten and I’m bruised,
Have mercy
Have pity
upon my body abused
desolate
with no fate,
Let kindness face to my heart
Then take me
Remake me,
Let me be your lesser part,
I’m battered,
Guide me so I might be used.

Gloom
Reworked response.

Thank you, Silver Streak,
I do prefer the King James, it’s the one I grew up with.

Thank you, EagleScorpion,
Glad you liked it, just a bit of inspiration from the Bible.
I am as well as I ever am, but thank you for the concern.

Gloom, I do like this one. Soul searching is good for us and God can do remarkable things, can He not? He remakes me daily, thank goodness. Enjoyed. Cheryl

The attractions of this world, the delights of wealth, and the search for sucess and the lure of nice things come in and crowd out God.  Mark 4:19

this is my new favorte verse...good to see the scriptures in poety

Hi Gloom!

I grew up with the King James Version, also. Only went to the New International Version in the last year. My younger brother, a loving though ruthless, brutal pentecostal minister convinced me after many long hours of touch discussions and argument, that the King James Version did have a few additions that were not in the original Hebrew and Greek. And modern scholars will quickly show that the translations are a bit more accurate.

So after much soul searching, I decided to follow purity as I understand it. But I encourage everyone to read the Word, in whatever version that God puts on your heart. Just read it!! It is the Holy Spirit, in careful reading of the Scripture, not man's translation, that makes understanding of God's Will complete and accurate.

Go for it!
