November Cotton

Sweet mercy the fields of cotton
how forgiving the November's dawning
lush in a vision of winter's telling
Come closer still to the oak and pine
burning in the hearth's bright glow
A simple silence gathered beneath the beams
rustic grace ever so hushed in the wake
of a perfect kiss
One hundred tomorrows will come and go
though the hour will be unchanged
forever crystal in the twinkling of her eyes
