Would you like to dance upon these keys?
where so many poems are hiding
fingertips maneuver over stair step letters
and magically my fingers are gliding

I can tap dance across a keyboard
and make it sing like a tea pot in the morn
or drink coffee with a nursery rhyme
make it warble, like a French horn

Im not saying im Ginger Rodgers
and im certainly not Fred Astaire
but I bet they couldn’t write poetry
Because they say, they didn’t have an affair
Would you like to dance upon these keys?
Im not Ginger, but can always bleach my red hair

Please, Vic! May I have the very next dance
You choose the gait and I will gladly wait
To glide along the keyboard of romance
Sweet poetry we'll write, all day and night.

Good one! Thanks!

NO!   Never go blonde   I did once and it wasn't me!
This reminded me of a piano but I know that's not what
it is about!  But you know I think poetry and song are
so closely intertwined and I like the way you brought
that out in this one, Victoria.

LOL!  I liked this, and you're right, don't lament about what you don't have, but take pride in your talent!  Thanks for the invitation to dance!

This poem is absolutely beautiful, Victoria...I know that you usually do free verse, so it is really refreshing to see a rhyming poem of yours...a really excellent one, at that!
