“MY FRIEND’S DATE”

I sit in this ole chair, just wondering,
about many of those romantic ones…
Thought I’d take a little break,
do some other, poetic expressions…

A little lighter side I would show,
different words from BC, that’s me…
Started writing something unexpected,
and then the phone rang, abruptly…

It was my close friend, from Alabama,
lost in them thar hills, with a cell phone…
With all those hill folk around him,
he was just feeling, mighty alone…

Asked him, ‘What in the world you doing’,
his reply was, “Dating Mary Lynn Bob…
Took her out in the deepest woods,
for she’s my only real heartthrob…”

Now if I told the whole story right now,
it would be all over too quick, actually…
So if you’d please come back, another time,
I’ll have the next episode from BC, yours truly…
