Woe is Me
By: Noah Eaton
1/20/02

I have no friends at school
I have none close to my home
Woe is me
I am all alone

Graduation is coming
I’ve lost all my youth
Woe is me
What more could I lose?

My peers want me to shut up
To be a man and forsake my dreams
Woe is me
I just want to live my destiny

I just want to be loved
I just want to be meaningful to something
Woe is me
I’m still struggling…

Noah- Very sad.  Your writing is usually very upbeat, so I was surprised to see this.  I hope your struggles end soon.  Nice writing.

I have no friends at school
I have none close to my home
Woe is me
I am all alone
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One good, honest friend is all anyone needs. Make one...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Graduation is coming
I’ve lost all my youth
Woe is me
What more could I lose?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll be 52 in May.  You haven't lost your youth.
How many people would love to be your age (whatever it is)
you're free to move around, two legs to carry you anywhere
you please and fingers to type.  You are not old.
We only lose when we give up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My peers want me to shut up
To be a man and forsake my dreams
Woe is me
I just want to live my destiny
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So what?  Doesn't matter a rip what people "want" Only you
can control your destiny.  So take control.  If someone comes
at you, get out of your woe...and go...in the other direction.
Just wanting something doesn't make it happen. DO IT
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I just want to be loved
I just want to be meaningful to something
Woe is me
I’m still struggling…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then do it.  Everyone wants to be loved.  How can you be so
sure you aren't?  Everyone is struggling and I hate to tell you
this but it never ends.  You will always struggle.  When you
cease to struggle you will be dead.  You're not dead, old
or unloved.
Now write some poetry, ok?
Be true to yourself and true to your heart, Noah...others cannot make you live their lives....Just always be true to you and write and find your dreams.**big hugs**
Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
I guess the real Noah must have felt a bit like this,
dwarfed by destiny,
raped by the guilt,
why me?
Yet, he saved the whole world.
Know what? I feel like this a lot. But you haven't lost anything sweetie, you are just beginning. Honest.
I like what catalinamoon said...You've only just begun...and we can only be who we are...so find your gifts and use them...you certainly have been using your gift of writing...James
