Look how my garden grows
nations from all around impose
and plant their native flowers
in my sand,
showing off their heritage
for future generations to understand.

Couldn't help thinking,
how could it be
these were the people we used to hate,
but their artisianal work we now emulate.
what was it we didn't see?

Look how the garden took shape
in a world where we often rape.
To keep free of the ultimate bomb
we found another human bond,
inviting nation states to compete
with horicultural displays of sacred feats.

These people are from far off lands
they plant their flowers in our sands
how easy it was to abominate
now it's their green thumb we emulate.

My mind reels at the thought of the loss,
human lives were tossed
between the times of scarcity and abundance and in the constant search for substance.

Now,look how my garden grew
nations from all around we slew;
we timed this after sacrificing the young
and built monuments for us to shed tears on,
planting gardens in their record
where books and trinkets are always sold.
