All grown up.

Our baby's discovered make up.
Don't you think she looks just fine?
YES ...
I've said don't overdo it.
NO ...
She will not cross the line.

Our baby's going to parties.
Don't you hope that she'll have fun?
YES ...
I have explained the dress rules.
NO ...
She wont be wearing "that one".

Our baby has a boyfriend.
Don't you think its really great?
YES ...
We've had a little talk.
NO ...
She wont stay out too late.

Our baby's all grown up.
Don't you think "How fast they grow"?
YES ...
I understand she needs me less
YES ...
I wish it wasn't so.

I'm willing to bet she doesn't need you less, just differently.  Nicely done!

This sounds like it could have been written by my mom, many years ago. She went through a lot of strife through my teen years, but, we became best of friends once I got into my twenties. You brought back some fond memories for me here.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?
