Down the burning spout
of frailty, she slid with easiness
into the lap of the old
friendly, rattan easy chair.
Frayed...long discolored,
blemished through wear. Yet, oh so
comfortable, so comforting.
A piece of history...not the world's
but hers alone.Years recalled.
Tucked safely between its two
straw arms.And, in the ripeness
of time, she thought about
replacing the chair.Yet, it was
a piece of her heart, a part
of her soul. How do you replace
a part of yourself?And so,
the rattan chair stayed
in its corner nesting place
inviting her to share in the wealth
of love that she experienced there,
the hope that cradled her heart
with peaceful inspiration, soft dreams.

YAY!!! Ooohhhhhh...I know just how she feels, sweet friend, sometimes artifacts are an important part of treasured memories and we need them close to our heart to feel happy! (kiss on cheek) I love it, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ivy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

A nice piece, conveying that we should never discard anything, just because it is old.  It may still have some underlying, hidden value of worth...
