Rebirth

I woke in alabaster dawn
The landscape fully etched in white
Where ice tipped pen so finely drawn
Across the woods and winter lawn
Had frosted limbs in chill of night

Glistening, the woodland now
With wonderland of crystal trees
Wrapping tones of gray and brown
In sequin studded pearly gown
That covers life’s impurities

Bleakness comes and harshly changes
Views embraced in nature’s fold
Life abruptly rearranges
And rewrites the silk white phrases
Hidden in a paper’s fold

In every season of our sorrow
Nature in its time bestows
Splendors that the heart may borrow
Into hours of tomorrow
Laced in gleaming ice and snows

Ivory flakes in mounds of glitter
Laid so softly on the earth
Cover memories cold and bitter
And bestow much greater worth
To this sweet dawn, my soul’s rebirth

Your union of metaphors between these human emotions and nature are superlative Liz. There is one good thing about having a rebirth, you get to know just how good the good really is, as you have experience the bad. Excellent!
