~* The Promise Of Spring *~

~*~
The gnawing bite of the wind wrings out any warmth.
As I stand in its bitterness waiting for the right moment.
One moment in time where she will find a doorway
sending down a shimmering light to warm my soul.

Clouds break and instantly the sorry dead grass,
steams, beginning a dance of life once more.
In that one fleeting moment in time,
there is a vision of pending springtime.

Tenaciously, wildly, the gray hovers over me.
Standing rigid I continue to gaze in wonder.
Growing colder, with each shiver,
I turn my back away from this wicked cold,
for surely she must know that I wait?

This wicked wind chilled by Alaska’s southern flow
glazes all in its path in crystal ice jewels.
Suddenly, just as I start to walk away,
I hear her; feel her reverberating through me.

I see her; the cerulean blue promise she makes,
overshadowing the stark coldness and emptiness of winter.
In a split second nature lights up the entire landscape
Using colors from a palette gifted by the “master”.

As if cracking her whip she opens up the sky,
sending down her commands in a roar.
The once black sky is alive in a rainbow of color,
as I bear witness of the beginning signs of spring.

I am in awe at the painting of her soul,
as I realize we both anticipate the same thing.
For as much as she now hides behind these dark clouds,
she also punches at the sky for the promise of spring.

Karilea, I could bore you for hours with pictures, and if you got my son and I together in one room, trust me you would be asleep in no time flat!

Eagle Scorpion ~ Why I thank you indeed, I am organizing pictures to take on a holiday to bore people LOL, and came across several I really like SO look out!

Noah ~ I love your enthusiasm!  And thank you for your very nice comments   that is why I put a link to her music there for everyone!

p.s.
Now if you want to hear my absolute favorite group and music here is the only site on the internet and I think it is Russian but it works for me!  The Group is called Secret Garden, and of course Celtic music.  Here is the link to hear their music (I own all their CD's and play them non-stop with Enya).

p.p.s
If anyone knows what language the site is in where the Secret Garden music is, can you let me know by email so I can find a translator for it?  I sure would appreciate it.

Hello Sharon
This was an absolute masterpiece in both imagery and words.  How vivid was this picture you painted.  It is hard for me to imagine what your Winter's must be like as we don't have snow here in Melbourne.  Can you believe that today I will be sweltering in 36 degrees celcius! Take care......Sue

Sue ~ We don't actually get snow on the ground here too often, but lots in the mountains.  This was an unusual day, bitter cold, and a storm started and instantly we went from light to dark.  We all run to one of several spots here, as ultimatley we hope there will be a lightning storm that hits the ocean in a huge kabang!  Well as you can see it does.  Poor you in all that heat, it is cold here, brrrrr.

Mysteria - Awesome picture. Where did get that?  It would make excellent wall paper for my computer.  Now to the poem.  Excellent imagery.  You made spring feel like a living entity trying to break free from winters cage.  Well done.

Sharon, this is fantastic!  Both the poem and the picture.  I must show my son as he is a CanWarn storm spotter down here in tornado alley, and collects and also takes his own storm photos.  Wonderful indeed...the power in a spring storm.
