If you follow a colonnade of candles
upon emerald fern stepping stones
If you follow scintillating lanterns
and fluting winds of the trees
lilac mist from sunset rain
and yellow, gold, and rustic leaves

beneath an embellishment of stars
you will find me

Upon a wrought iron chair
and a rustic table set for two
a milieu of mahogany leaves
a habitat of songbirds, blue
you will discover
our secluded rendezvous
goblets of a Chardonnay
just for me and you

Follow whispers of hollow trees
listen for the whip-poor-will
honeysuckle in their beaks
yellow ribbons for my hair
adorning blandished streaks

Gardenia wax dripping
down the shaft of night
within the woodlands
in nocturnal moonlight
lost dreams will come true
upon white petals of wisterias
just me and you

You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice because thorns have roses.

Victoria, the closing stanza is sensuously inviting and beautiful.

Now, exactly where are these "woodlands" and what time shall we meet *wink*

I am running out of words for all of the lovely things I am reading today V~.
This is stunning artistry with such vivid imagery.  Lovely V!
