Souls Like Crystal Snowflakes

Just a few short hours ago,
During midnight it chanced to snow
And early, around 3:00 a.m. or so,
I awoke to a glisten of glow.

There was no sound, no apparent life,
As only in a fairy tale’s dream,
Imagine souls like crystal snowflakes,
Come to dance upon my scene.

For there was a sparkle all around
And lo, over the land covered white,
The skies had cleared and the moon abound,
Snowflake souls and I, alone in this night.

For each flake was a spirit of one
Before it joined its companions white
And like my world, they all joined in
United, to make things ensue just right.

So may souls like crystal snowflakes
Thrive round you this year;
And keep in mind during summer;
Rainbows will keep them here.

There really is something mystical and soothing in the falling snow and in the scene thereafter. It gives a soul a chance to reflect in peace!
This is so pretty and deep.

Oh Karilea, you have captured the feel and imagery of this perfectly.  The quiet hush as the snow blankets the earth,...to the souls of each crystal snowflake.  Beautiful!
Thank you for this one...I love the snow!

This whispers to  me with a peaceful feeling Sunshine.  So soft and beautiful...

On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free.

Sunshine, you have won my heart I am a snow lover, and I alway am so amazed when I read a poem and see lines or words I have used and not yet posted, like" glisten of glow" mine is " glistening glow" another poet also remarked on how she wrote similar to some of mine, I guess in the end we all think alike. I love this, it is wonderfully written and the title just grabbed me. floria

Karilea, I love to see a beautiful new snow. And when sunshine first looks down on a new snow, isn't it pretty how it sparkles?

Well I a definitely smiling up here in the greenbelt, with the snow behind me up yonder hills.  Every time I look up there I will be thinking of those crystals and the coming rainbows too.
I loved this, but wanted to see a picture of a snow fairy dancing in the snow on the poem,
so I whispered the poem and poof, there it was, an image of you!

This poem is so beautiful, Karilea...that it almost seems sacred.
I love the way a new fallen snow looks in the middle of the night...So peaceful, like your lovely poem.
