(Dedicated to the love of my dreams)

Woman Of My Dreams
By: Noah Eaton
1/18/02

I dream of holding you
Down on the milky eiderdown clouds
Of our sweet moonlight dreams
Lathering you in the satiny lotion of starlight

Wrap me in your velvet
Embrace me in your cashmere kiss
Dance with me among the curried heavens
Swimming among these eternal lovers tides

We are ivory swans, flying in mutual harmony
Embracing the kaleidoscope heart of paradise
Dancing romantic ballet, finding grace in gravity
Finding happiness in your angelic heart

Hold my hand, sweet love
You are the woman of my dreams
Kiss me under these roman candle skies
Shouting off fireworks of our felicity
United in true loveā€¦
You and me...
Forever...

Hey Noah, m'man     It's been a while since I replied to you, but then again, it's been a while since I replied to anyone really.  Time is pressing these days.

In any case, here's how I felt about your poem...

The first stanza, a very nice introduction to the rest of the poem.  A lot of imagery, a lot of reference to the person you are addressing... phrases like "lathering you" all instill feelings in the reader, that's good... and I'm sure it's very effective for the girl you intend this for...

You transist into a different purpose for the next stanza, which is good organization.  In this stanza, the shift from "you" to "me" sets the scene, lights the candles and pulls out the chairs... the first two stanzas together are a perfect introduction to romantic poetry, I admire the form that you use.

In the third, you persist with the shifts and link the two.  Once more that was absolutely perfect...!  I can't praise you enough on how you formed this... sorry but every time I see organized poetry I feel giddy...

Throughout the poem you have a lot of sensory appeal, words like "ivory" and "milky" give both coloured and textured qualities to your images.  Especially the word "fireworks," which once more attacks several senses at once in the reader's mind.  What a talent for imagery you have...!

And the ellipse at the end, crowning the word "forever" and complimenting it by never truly ending the poem, but trailing away from it.  Fascinating concept here.

Noah, this has got to be one of the best poems I've read from you... without a doubt.  You've made me glad to once more be walking the blue pages.

Noah - a very lovely poem for your Joanna. It's beyond me how she can resist words like this.

btw - I'm thinking of a humorous one as a duet. What say you????

Noah,

If I could find someone half as devoted to me as you are to your sweet Joanna, I'd truly be blessed. Until then I have your sweet friendship. I really love this love poem you have penned here.
