ode to my dad, the painter,
who loved nature in all her mysterious ways

~~~~~~~~~~~
In mist, I see a flair of burning red
I know, the sun will follow very soon
Behind my back, there is the fading moon
Reminds me of my father, but he's dead
He was a man of nature and so pure
A man, who needed just few words to speak
In showing feelings, he was very weak
He was my father, I felt that for sure
He was an artist and his world was paint
He saw the beauty in the little things
He taught me well, in how to spread my wings
He was my father, but he was no saint
And so in silence, when I see the sun
I like to think of him, with lots of fun
~~~~~~~~~~~
I did bend the sonnet's format a little

It appeared it contained a few grammar faults, I think it's better this way (I hope)

(sigh) Oh my gosh, this is sooooooo beautiful, sweet friend, your father will always love you so very much just as he will always sing with his golden heart the beauty of nature around! (kiss on cheek) Maybe you can sahare some of his paintings with us sometimes, I just know I'll love them all so much! We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is a very loving and compassionate tribute! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Titia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Ha Noah, thanks for your lovely words.

I intend to share some of his drawings, as soon I've put them on my pc.

A delightful tribute, Titia...   I especially like the title...

You used a great deal of imagery, and a lot of sentimental description.  It all fit very nicely into the sonnet format.

Great to be reading from you again.

I am not even calling mine a sonnet anymore...if it turns out to be one, then that's great. I do love the 14 line poem, but I flow better with the 8 count.

Thank you all so much for your sweet support.
I made some changes though, due to some grammarfaults. As I couldn't change the original poem anymore, I'll put it down here.

In mist, I see a flair of burning red
I know the sun will follow very soon
When I look up there is a fading moon
Reminds me of my father - who is dead

He was a man of nature and so pure
A man, who needed just few words to speak
In showing feelings, he was very weak
But the unspoken love, I felt for sure

He was an artist and his world was paint
He saw the beauty in the little things
He taught me well, in how to spread my wings
He was my father, but he was no saint

Sweet memories are coming to my mind
Such memories are never hard to find
