"Just write," he said.
"Make sense later.
All of feeling
can be thought away,
and you will be left
with empty words,
the poetry gone from your eyes,
and you might as well
write catalog descriptions,
itemized emotion--
dry prefabrications
available to others
only for a price."

"Too late," I wept.

He wiped the tears
from my face
smiling as
he lifted my chin
gently in his hand.
A soft wet whisper kiss
on my forehead,
and he breathed it
to me again,

"Just write."

Karen, this friend is a keeper.....believe me....
I was with you through every line on this one,
every single line.

Now this is one I'll tuck away and read again, it is well written wonderful thoughts. Raw emotions, just let them flow freely onto these pages, without being forced or pushed into their "proper" place. Your friend gave you some powerfully great advice.

now theres the kind of inspiration I need
where do you find one of them "wet whisper kisses"  *L*
I want some...cajun spice pleeeeze ...
SEE baby....even when you dont rhyme...its divine.
And me twin?....YOU couldnt wipe the poetry from your eyes if you tried....
its in your blood baby...
kiss your friend for me...for inspiring this in you.

It's not like you to say sorry
I was waiting on a different story
This time I'm mistaken ...
for handing you a heart worth breakin'

hey...this is great, I am blessed with an abundance of wonderful friends! Thanks to all, especially my mystery muse friend...so if you all will tolerate me, I think I will do just what he suggested--I didn't want to own my emotions, much less lay them out for anyone else to bear...but...like the Tao, I will try not to try! rofl...love you all!

A very wise friend you have there Karen. How very true, all of feeling can be thought away. I’ve just realized, maybe that’s why I prefer the poems I write in 10 minutes, more than the ones I agonize over for hours.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Your friend was just right on, serene one. Separate the wheat from the chaffe later...just get it down
