This is in response to "the Glass Mender" posted by True Reflections for Vanessa.

Healing Wings

The little bird needed so much care.
Its tiny wings were badly tattered.
All that would heal was heartfelt prayer.
The storms of life had sorely battered
this little bird.

But God had graced the little sparrow
with a mother's sheltering wings.
The little bird was nurtured and loved
till its heart could once again sing.

Then one day when the sky was clear
the little sparrow chanced to fly.
"Your love has healed me, Mother dear,"
said the bird as it winged the sky.

The mother's prayers God had heard
and in mercy, He healed her little bird.

You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Cheryl, thank you for sharing!

A tender and beautiful write , I know it will be well reveived. I work with children and know that each is special in their own way. I have one in my poetry group that is diagnosed as ADDT, he is the most gifted poet in his age group!!!

Cheryl,
Very lovely. I'll pass this on to her.
My apologies to everyone that commented on Vanessa's poem. The site administrators closed the post because of a violation of the rule preventing posting someone else's poetry. Obviously I disagree with their decision in this case as I wasn't trying to take credit for someone elses work, just thought she needed a few warm feelings sent her way. Because of this she couldn't post a response to your kind words. Thank you from her.

Thank you Cheryl.

Roger

Cheryl - I am definitely a fan of your writing.  Very nice, tender write.  I will have to catch Roger's poem.  Is this about the same Vanessa that used to post on Moontown?

By the way, I really liked you second interpretation of my poem.  I think you hit it right on the head with that one.

Dave, yes this is the Vanessa (Violetness) that we knew at Moontown. Her writing was always so lovely. This is about her little girl. I'm happy I got the true meaning of your poem. I knew if would have more meaning than a mere flower hoping to survive winter.  Thanks, as always. Cheryl
