What You Do
By Larry Chadwick

They say work is what you do,
That it is not who you are.
But what if work is
What you like to do, by far?

Maybe it is time to admit
That if what you do
Is who you are,
You must like what you do.

This kind of circular thinking puts you right back where you started. It's a good thing you like who you are, and what you do. Or is that what you do, and who you are? I get this stuff all mixed up because I'm not gainfully employed these days, yet I like what I do! Go figure that one out. HUGS.

Larry,
What if you're not who you are
would you like what you do
you could be my star
if you answer true

What if a job's a job
and you do it for cash
would I still like myself
or give me the lash

for not liking my work
and confusing my mind
or could I just shirk
to treat me so kind.

It's the questions that drive us. Thanks for screwing my mind a little tighter.
Keth

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Its always better to love your work, Larry...otherwise, your life could be totally miserable and you wouldn't be able to send us your beautiful poems.
I enjoyed and agreed with this one!

Circular perhaps but who ever laid the rule down that everything has to be logical in the first place?

Fun poem

Kacy,
Ha! Too funny. It just proves you don't need a job to like what you do...if you can afford it!

Keth,
I have I reached the party to whom I'm speaking or is that not you? Great little riddle...false. Does it help if I like you whether you're you or not. And regardless of what it is you do.

Lauren,
I sure like who you are!

Karen,
Thank you so much. You know me...just going in circles!

floria,
That's the incredible part. I'm not a workaholic but...I love my job! Seems like an oxymororn.

Lyra,
See, I need somebody around to help me with my perspective!

Noah,
And may all your dreams come true. Now where did I put that little lamp?

Canuckster,
Exactly. Why should reality interfere with all our thinking.

Bill,
Hope you weren't getting dizzy...

Hello Larry
So nice to see you here again, I was worried that something might have happened to you?
Your words spoke many truths and speaking for myself, I'd have to say that I'm more than happy with my work life and family life. I have a lot to be thankful for.
Take care.....Sue

Lary darling boy WONDERFUL this had me in a puzzle

If I am me then can I be?
Or is it not me I see?
For if I be
Then I am me
Or else do I see
Me?

Utterly utterly fabulous and absolutely perfect flow NO ONE does it like YOU which is just as well really because they couldn’t match up.

Absolutely fabulous writing, and you know I love it don’t you? Mmmmmm I do

Sue,
Thank you. Life has been hectic lately...but fun! I hate getting too far away from Passions and enjoy all my time here. Haven't gotten to your poems yet, but I will. Good to see you too.

My other Nancy Lee,
If you got it then you're doing better than me! LOL

Mushy,
I'm almost certain that if you were any more fun than you already are you'd be twins! Then who would you be? Thanks sweetie!
