Two hands
Two hearts
Two bands of gold

Tightly clasped
Filled with desire
Symbol of promises still untold

Just like their love

Two hands
Two hearts
Two bands of gold

Gnarled and wrinkled
Sometimes broken
Worn smooth and old

Just like their love

Cheryl, this is so true
and expressed with
much sincerity.
Reminds me of young love
and I don't apologize for
sounding sappy

Dear Cheryl,
Now look what you did. I got all weepy and everything. Gorgeous write, so short and great. A lifetime in 25 words or less...

Midnitesun, Yes, some of us are lucky enough to find that forever partner. Thank goodness.

Nan, I'm proud as a peacock that I wrote something stirring enough to cause tears. Yeah. Cheryl

Hey Cheryl.....I thought you couldn't write love poems.....Well now, I've seen at least two excellent ones you've written, so you are probably mistaken about that notion.
I really loved this one.  It covered so much time with so few words, so beautifully written.

Cheryl,
Powerfully simple. How two things that don't touch can be so intertwined. Very good.

Like the ring in this poem, these lovers love have no begining and no end.  I hope when I'm old and wrinkly I have the hand i love wrapped in mine too Great write!

Lyra, I guess I'm catching on. This one thought of two hand and two bands just wouldn't let go until I wrote something. Thanks. Cheryl

Roger, that is the incredible part. Just like two vines that grow along a fence and end up twisted together. Honeysuckle and wild roses. Oh man, would that make a great poem. Thanks, Cheryl

Rebekkah, isn't that a sweet feeling. Knowing you will grow old with the one who held your hand as a young bride. I was 18 so I have a few more years. Just think when I'm 68 I'll be celebrating my 50th.  Cheryl

Harry, Thanks so much. That was my purpose when starting. Just two verses to show a lifetime. I'm glad you liked it. Cheryl
