           My Mistake
have you been waiting
for me long
are you the music
to my song
new surprises
in full supply
the one to
make me sigh
the missing beat
to my heart
the emotion I lose
in my art
was it for me
that you waited
a breath held
and hesitated

oh yes, I do understand

how else could it be
it was for another you ache
just thought you were talking to me
please excuse my mistake

"I have already paid for all my future sins."  Sade...(King of Sorrow)

*sigh* I am sure whoever he is is aching for you as much as you are for him...maybe it was just a misunderstanding. My heart goes out to you. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Oh Helen, I do like this.  The presentation is wonderful, almost like a conversation.
Enjoyed so much!

He made a BIG mistake, he should've scooped you right up and treasured you!

No, I fear it would be his mistake if he longed for another. This is very well written. Enjoyed. Chris

helen - very telling write. Perhaps at times some things that seem real, are only words written...

(sigh) Such yearning fills these words, sweet friend, I too pray with all my heart that he too feels the same way you do and you can again forgive each other and love on and on! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is beautiful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Helen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Helen, I enjoyed your poem very much. I love the format you used. The casual conversation feel makes it very real to your readers. Only problem is the sad ending. Cheryl

Oh, the cruel doubt!
Very well put, Lady.  Well aimed and hits the spot.

Loved this piece.  I, too, enjoyed the way it seemed to be a conversation.  It's always hard to yearn for someone when they only have eyes for another.  Especially when you try to read into anything that they do, hoping that there's some sort of signal that they're really longing for you.
Thanks for sharing this one.
