A letter blonde with a hair trigger.
Anna is;
Fancy and fragile.
Like fine blue crystal
set upon a rocky cape.
One inch a above a violent tide.
An orphan left to struggle
in the water spilling from her eyes.

It was to be her last Christmas.
Spent on a doomed liner that went down fast.
Straight past that point.
And swallowed in an instant by the terror filled deep.
Molested by the darkness as the silence steals her screams.
Taken;
Anxious in the surf of the piranha like cold.
Tucked in nice and tightly sinks
a frightened little girl.

Echoes from her childhood,
Bubble and bob and bump into Anna like strangers on a busy street.
Vaguely familiar.
They are the planks left strewn from her ship.
As serendipity buys her one feeble grip.
Just long enough for rescue by the not to soon the dawn,
Washed up drenched and stranded,
Marooned on her bedroom floor.

I still see her there from time to time,
As I fly high over head.
She is always busy on her beach
building large letter bonfires that spell out S.O.S.
Frantic in throwing back bottles she has previously sent.

Damn this ocean your mote!
This world you have made flat.
Countless search parties left,
Not one ever came back.

So left am I.
To tread the hot sands of distant shores.
Still hearing your shrieks,
From shark infested sleep,
As similar water splashes my feet.
While I search for you by name,
That prescious sound.
But amid a million other voices,
Too faint comes the shout.
And with your back pressed hard against your door,
White sails paint a sunset,
and I hear the mermaids call.

WOW!  This is fantastic.  I thought it was great.  I've read it a few times, but have been too caught by the piece to offer any suggestions, so....

Congrats!
