Here is another rough one from my notebook, folks. It has been revised a bit. The rhyme is rough, but it goes with the flow of the way I was feeling. LOL! Hmm...maybe I could just call the rough spots in my flow the bumps of my thoughts pondering toward poetry and message? Wonder if anyone would buy that. Enjoy!

(January 3, 2002)

If I am from a girl,
a woman turning
then let me have the love for which I am yearning.
Let sorrow's tears no longer take me.
Allow from me the beauty that could be.
For I have offered to adulthoood,
every yellow rose I could
asking for its hand in friendship
and peace where a girl once stood.
But now the void, it crashes toward
that little girl comes back for the woman is a coward.
If love and innocence and tears do stop
then let the little girl in me remember every drop.
If my heart was but an unplucked bud
ill in rising to its flower
perhaps the petals outreached to you
could make woman within the hour?
But pray, my mind does, on me tell
Doubt and indecision burst from my soul and swell.
My path is wrapped in unmade decisions.
Girl and woman move toward division.
One before the other has had its day
Now chains of something harder do, my will, slay.
But do I dream of false thunder
This woman's decision that I am under?
Is being the grown one as bad as perceived
By a little girl, who for love, has not properly grieved?
And if I am girl to woman turning
Ohh, let me have the kind love
For which the little girl has been yearning.

that's right, a yellow rose DOES signify friendship doesn't it?

Maybe that's why they are my favorite.

I liked this one, Jenn.

(smiles) Soooooo beautifully bittersweet, sweet friend, again you amaze me! The spirit of the girl will always shine in your loving heart, smiling and laughing with the beauty of innocence, while you carry on with your womanly love and faith too, spreading your hearts wings to the light! (kiss on cheek) You are a yellow rose to us all, sweet friend, you are a friend in all our hearts! We all love you so much, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jennifer, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

do all children dream of finding their true love???

it would seem so. . . wonderful from you. . .

Wow...a lot of depth, questions and feelings
within this poem...Certainly a girl becoming
a woman could feel this...

A nice marriage of inner child and Adult! There is much in this poem to admire, but the above spoke most clearly to me! Loved it.
