Winter’s breath stings ~ nipping the nose
Outside my door, a frosty wind blows

Ice drips from eaves ~ daggers of frozen water
The sun dies quickly as winter days grow shorter

But under my roof a warm fire glows
I'm wrapped in love as passion overflows

Whispered sighs, soft caresses ~ my contentment grows
as I bloom in winter’s heat like a hot house rose

Cheryl, this is very beautiful. Living in Florida, now, I have no longer get to seek warmth from bitter cold in a nice warm house. But I remember how nice it was.

Well, now, alright!!!!!!!!!!

A hot hose rose, that sounds pretty good to me.  I love that thought.

I'm going to keep this in mind when the snow arrives

*sigh* the cold of Jan outside and the warmth of a fire and passion of love inside...what could be more perfect than that. *sigh* the vision you paint here is romantically perfect. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Kay, I was picturing a winter rose blooming in a hot house and it brought this about.

Floria, Glad you enjoyed this winter poem.

Startime, I liked the contradictions of the two extremes too. Snow on the roof, fire on the hearth, so to speak. Cheryl

Juanita, I'm glad I gave you a warm fuzzy. I could use one right now. My feet are freezing. Cheryl
