Prison of the heart 'Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. "Quick, get up!" he said, and the chains fell off Peter's wrists.' NIV Acts 12:7 Why am I chained in bondage in this prison of my heart To only speak sweet words to you, not tear two souls apart For when you hear the words I say your feelings override And what I speak as simple fact cuts piercing through your side. Must I be ever mindful that another soul so fears That insecurity is there to hide sadness and tears But God is Light, not darkened thoughts to keep the truth away And only truth and openness will always let love stay. And so I walk on plates of glass as humans tend to do Observe your moods and not intrude because that I love you Although the darkness that we share could tear our souls apart I pray an angel of the Lord will help us not to part As I live in the prison of the heart.  YAY!!! Yes, and His love will always slide the gates ajar to hope and freedom, for as long as we believe in ourselves, we can never be incarcerated deep down! Oh my gosh....such an emotional poem. *sigh* It is amazing how sometimes we feel this way but love makes this kind of prison a joy and God makes all the chains easy to bear. *big hugs**  Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |
