I have seen footprints
outside my door
unknown notations
deep impressions
hearts that heavy wore

I have seen footprints
through my windows
sharing existence
with insistance
places no one knows

I have felt each step
waiting for more
as they were taken
love forsaken
just outside my door

Craig, this is certainly heartfelt and penned with pain but is a lovely work of poetry. Well done, Sir. I enjoyed!  Cheryl

ctowen, This is very nice - a sense of sorrow and regret I feel. Chris

Very well done.  Good pace, line breaks and a very good overall impact.  Liked this piece a lot.
