Here I stand alone at the end
reversing the motion with nowhere to go
it's time to start over again.

I don't want to see the same places I've been
in the past, they're already gone.
A journey through time,
forgotten,and already missed.

To see all the places I never bothered to stop
and the people I let pass me by.
There is so much to miss when you stand all alone
with tears welling up in your eyes.

To these places I'll go and look for the faces
I'll make better use of my time.
I'll work my way back and begin once again
my mistakes I'll try to amend.

I won't be a back up, a hit or a miss
or drive myself into a wall.
Bound and determined once and for all,
my plans are to travel in style.

I'll not be detoured, not ever again
the wrong turns I'll steer to make right.
Because where I am going I've already been,
and so much has changed over time.

BluesSerenade - been there, done that too. It's amazing when one breaks out to see with their own eyes the beauty of what's there... For their is that beauty, it's all around, even in ones backyard... Peace be with you....

Thank you Bill Charles for your kindness and and understanding.

Victoria~ I've lived and learned alright, haven't we all?  I don't think there is a map that can take us there, we either make it or we learn to adjust.
So I'm adjusting.  I do thank you very much.

your words, touching because we all wish to get that 'somewhere' place,
inspiring, and always beautiful even tho they are twinged with a bit of sadness.

Serenade, sometimes the past is best to be left behind.  Its the most difficult thing to do in life, i think.  You've been writing with great grace lately, and i applaud you
and hope happiness stays on your shoulder.

Be well, and keep smiling.

This is a lovely poem. I always admire when a person sees what they did wrong and decides to start anew! This has a lovely message of self-analysis and maturity! Well done!

Thank you SR, I appreciate you taking the time to read me.  I'm not about to stop smiling or let life pass me by.
Now wait just a minute, you're saying it's best to leave the past behind?
I think that's exactly what I was writing about, 'in the past, it's already gone'
I've got a notion to get back to the future.
hehehe....I'm serious though!
Thanks again for your encouraging words.

Morcastlin~ I'm always analyzing myself and one of my worst critic.  Such a nasty little habit of mine.     Thank you very much for your compliments.

Noah dear~  You are such a sweet man, and always hit pretty close to home as to what I'm writing about. I can't help this mental vision of doing 360's in a culdesac!
Thanks for making me smile.
