*This is the Opening Prayer and Blessing of the Assembly from Mass for Peace in Our Time*

Celebrant:+ In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Assembly:Amen

Celebrant:The blessing of God, and the peace of life be with all of you.

Assembly:And also with you.

Celebrant:Let us pray.

Father in heaven, we come to you as people of peace
but yet, people who have both known and seen war
we come as the first generation
for whom war was all they knew
we come as the second generation
for whom the spoils of war were gained
we come as the the third generation
for whom war was a thing of the past
until now

until the spectre of war came falling from the sky
war was something that happened elsewhere
but not here
             not to us
                       not this way

it made us realize Lord
that peace is someting we need to work for every day
that if we have peace in our hearts
can the world be far behind?
grant to us now Lord, the spirit of your peace
may it fill our souls and our lives
and may we be a people of peace
now and forever

Assembly:Amen

Sven, I think the only thing that need be said here, is, “Amen”. You have said everything else that needs to be said.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?
