Red Wolf, Cherokee maiden,
laughs into the wind
allowing the wind to play
with her silken tresses.
She gathers her red skirts
in soft, draping folds
all about her. Her red blouse
decorated with beads
of many colors. Her long black
lashes winking at
the temerity of the wind.

"Yes," she says, "My blood
runs red, fills me
with adventure, wild desires."

Many young braves
follow her paths
leaving gifts upon the ground,
wooing her with songs
of great longing, desperate need.
Red Wolf runs along
the rivers of their hearts
leaving them in the dust
~~~~of their own yearning.
Like a Red Wolf~~~~
she consumes all
of their passions, caring
nothing about the many hearts
that she leaves shattered, the dreams
that she has broken into shards.
(sigh) WOW!!! Such a powerfully bittersweet Native American legend come to life, sweet friend, both passion and tears fill these words! May Red Wolf continue to dance but only bring passion and comfort to many hearts! (kiss on cheek) I love it, sweet friend, the visions you paint are absolutely breathtaking and incredible! We all love you so much, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ivy, thank you for sharing!
May love and light always shine upon you!
I think I met this maiden once in the forest of my dreams. What a challenge.
