Once I gazed on you in silence Feared to speak a single word Though words were trembling to be spoken Once I smiled a wistful smile Suppressed the love that grew inside And called you my best friend Once, but now no longer Each day the love grew stronger Until "I love you" came bursting through And then the silence grew and grew Just when I'd began to doubt The silence broken Softly, softly, as a sigh...
