~* West Coast Beauty *~

The West Coast of Canada is beauty's own
with tumbling mountains, and boundless skies.
Here colors riot, species of birds enchant,
The warm breeze of prodigal summer never dies.

My Canada’s moods take long to know,
her mountains, rivers, lakes and plains.
They offer such peace and serenity in life
anyone who visits, tells of their gains.

Here tall cedar trees sway a light ballet
as a breeze whispers down a forest path.
The sea itself waltzes into the shore,
Then lazily ebbs out again in sun’s bath.

My country's sea snarls at her worn shores,
biting away and it worries at the land.
Her trees, deep-rooted, gnarled and tough
with leafless boughs defiantly stand.

On the West Coast, there are sounds and scents,
such colors so rich to the eye, that we boast.
Here every day of life is offered as a gift
and all around us, nature is our gracious host.

Trees bright green against the mountain snow,
sing of the springtime it begins to weave.
Naked branches show the miracle of life renewed,
as the magic of spring is now being conceived.

My home can be gray, and dismal with rain.
We’re relieved, when springtime does appear.
Glad to be free to just sit by the shores,
And soak up sun by the ocean that we hold dear.

If I sound proud when I speak of my home,
it is because it is here I’ll always stay,
surrounded in beauty day in and day out,
I only live once; I’d have it no other way!

This is soooooooo beautiful, sweet friend, I need to write a poem now to show you and everyone how I love Colorado! Sooooooo lovely and breathtaking, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Look at you!  I've seen much in the way of your growth here at Passions.  When you first came, you said you were not much of a poet.

Guess what?  I can now say, you are Wrong...

Sharon, Yes, our Canada is a beautiful country....your part is as much loved by you as my Ontario is by me. Lovely picture as well. Enjoyed. Chris

Mistletoe Angel - you do a poem about your Colorado, so I can see it, as I have never been there.

Sunshine - You made me blush!

Nightshade - I love Ontario in the fall, there is no where like it for the trees in autumn.  Why not write a poem about your province and be proud too!  Thanks for your nice reply.

strbbux - Come on up - the weather's great~lol, and thank you.

Hello Sharon
Thank you for taking me on a journey through your wonderful homeland.  I have been fortunate to have done a lot of travelling in my life and I must say that my next destination is Canada and Alaska, two places I long to visit.  Your beautiful words and imagery took me there today and I thank you.
Take care......Sue

Sue Brother, if you and Andrew ever are coming here, you make sure you let me know, and I will show you around.  It is spectacular in B.C. and a cruise from here to Alaska is awesome!

Karilea, I want to thank you for making the same observation I have repeated many times to disbelieving ears, and so with this poem, I take a bow.
And by the way, Sharon, I love the way "the sea waltzes into the shore". That ccertainly is a pretty picture, even without the photograph. Thank you for this lovely poem

We Canadians do indeed have a lot to write about.  Quite a match between words and picture.  I enjoyed the read very much.

Sharon--When you said west coast, I was thinking California.  What beauty you have written and displayed for us of another cost, equally beautiful.  Thank you.

This is beautiful.  Reading this wants me want to visit Canada.  I've been to Oregon, but that is the closest I've been to Canada's Western coast.  I hope to get the chance to visit some time though.  Great work!

Well I feel like the British Columbia tourist guide right about now, and proud of it too!  You are all wonderfully supportive in your comments.  You must indeed try to come to B.C. one day, it is absolutely beautiful at every turn, as said.  And don't forget your dollar is worth so much more up here.  I hope you all get the opportunity to see this one day, and thank you all for your wonderful comments.

This is beautiful and fills me with pride - but, then again, Canada is heaven on earth isn't it?!   I have many relatives and friends who reside in B.C, but, I've never had the chance to visit...I must say that your poem has convinced me to visit very soon - that picture is gorgeous and perfectly compliments your words

take care,

Fantastic! Your poetry always paints such vivid imagery, but it's nice to see a photo of the BC west coast. I have flown over it, but never visited it up close. Even so, I understand your love of the magical beauty of Canada.

Melissa - Ontario is beautiful as well with all the lakes, and nature walks, but I have to tell you girl - come visit your relatives, it is simply beautiful here honest!  Thank you and yes I join you in that pride too.

Kacy - You too live in beautiful surroundings, as I have taken a cruise to Alaska a couple of times, and am in awe of the scenery on the way there, and back.  Thank you for enjoying this though.
